  • Royal servers

Not acceptable to just leave the servers in that state when they're hosting a battle quest that is the first big raid experience for new players. I keep joining on the off chance that it's not a horrible lag run because I know those players just want to clear out those quests or, I dunno, finish a raid as intended?

There's been two maintenances since they closed my ticket about it saying it was being looked into. They seem to be allergic to making useful sticky threads on this forum about ongoing issues that could save people a lot of wasted time and megas while they fix things. See the dozens of threads about that outfitter that showed the wrong inner, disabled forum features, abnormal gameplay, UI lag, etc.

I hope when they do the merger they update the bug reporting section to be like Vindictus eu's, where the staff can sort threads into categories like "Confirmed/Fix incoming" or "Needs more info". Gives us a much better idea of what's going on with our game, rather than just assuming we're being ignored until a blue name pops up.

  • What is wrong with this game?

On top of the fps problems we had before, I've been getting absurdly long loading screens since the update too. Been avoiding Berbhe since the town and camp area take forever to load but it's even happning with Malina boats. I have no idea what's going on anymore, and I just feel bad joining parties like this.

  • What is so great about vindictus' combat?

Hitbox based combat, hit delay, freedom of movement, zoom level preserving the scale of the enemies, no dependence on holy trinity mechanics. The individual inputs for the combo system also add to the feel of the game.

Most mmos have a very "light" feel to their combat due to lockstrafe/targeting mechanics and lack of hit delay, and it's just not as satisfying. You're just pressing buttons to watch skill animations that play with no consideration for what's around you, what you're standing on, or what you're trying to hit. The cheap, Fallout 3-looking looking movement in a lot of mmos is really offputting to me too.

It's better to compare Vindictus to action rpgs like Dark Souls or Monster Hunter, but the combat hasn't been as slow as those games for years now. It's faster with focus on prolonged aggressive play using stamina restoration and mobile survival mechanics.

  • Game will die if...

Well the problem there is how jacked up s2 crafting recipes have always been. It's completely unreasonable to expect anyone to farm 25-50 gilderites from TS race to make a Heremon set, and Orbs are in half of the recipes meaning they have to compete with the level 90 players for them. The growth goals rewards combined with a another rework to s1/s2 recipes would make it so we'd never feel like we need something like the level up event again.

They had the right idea with the revamped level up gifts giving lesser armors for free. Erg river is totally passable for leveling but has no offensive benefits to speak of and looks horrible - that's motivation enough for me to try to grind up mats for better sets as I level, but the current recipes deter me from bothering. The drop tables are contaminated with actual garbage to the point where you'd level up 10+ times before you had farmed enough to make a single piece of any worthwhile season 1 armor, and good luck making anything other than Everlasting if you plan to use a level 70 armor set.

An overhaul of all recipes across season 1 and 2 may be partially wasted effort, but at the very least they could give the level 80 stuff this treatment. 80-90 is where you really feel it when your equipment is garbage since they kept buffing boss damage for endgame def users, and you spend so much time in that level bracket grinding exp. Imo people should just chill out and raid while farming s2 maps once in a while at these levels, but there's no progress to be made without spending gold until you hit 90 and that's stupid.

    tl;dr rework s2 recipes pls

  • Blight of the Unseen Update

Aw man, neither NA nor EU has detailed patch notes this time. Hopefully nothing too important was omitted again.
