I noticed that if you click the ok button on the error message, it locks you on the black screen and you have to restart the game. if you just let it go back to the server selection screen and not click the OK, it will not lock up.

the easiest way that i have fixed that issue, is i hit enter (to go to chat) and then hit enter again (to get out of chat) and I am able to move again.

The new Rise update notes stated that the NPC Craft Items were removed (well, most of them). The only way to craft Armor/Weapons is through Expertise. Its all in the Rise Update Notes.
I had Leather Sheaths from before the update. The tradable Leather Sheaths let me complete mine. Not the new non-tradable leather sheaths that you get from Story Item Quest with new version.
