  • Fatigue System - Ideas on ways to recover

NA/EU should simply have pots that give so much fatigue people can run what they want to everyday. It doesn't need to be improved for NA/EU, it needs to be offset so that it's next to unnoticeable. I get they had to add it in to make the coding easier for updates, but having to manage it and not being able to level characters properly is unwanted and has nuked the server population. We already know they can make pots to reduce it, so make some to reduce it to zero. They can offset it, or they can keep hemorrhaging players.

They should mail all affected players the boxes missed at the minimum or an equivalent amount of NX.

My question would be how did the people show Nexon how to optimize their stuff without looking at the actual source code because I highly doubt that Nexon would allow people to look at their source code? Also isn't there a recent rebalance patch in Korea that rebalanced Lann too? Or was it just bad?

I would assume it's the effort he's mentioning, but there was a group who pulled apart the Source levels of Vindi and showed in great details what the issues were. The most glaring was that DevCat used a lot of unnecessary layers. Basically you'd have a set of object in the map, and instead of rendering only an outer, visible, interactive layer they'd build piece on top of piece on top of piece. That meant that if you for instance, hit a switch to ride the cart up on Misty Summit, instead of tracking the outer shell and relaying its position to you and then from you to your party, it had to relay every single redundant layer underneath and track and update every single redundant layer underneath to you and then pass that information on to the rest of the party.

As of a while back the old EU forums were still archived and you could search and read through the entire detailed post, and when I say detailed I mean it. They showed every single bit of information they could about the issue with how DevCat built levels and assets and even how to fix it. DevCat did nothing with it and our game is still garbage when it comes to optimization because of it. Even if they were too lazy to go back and make the game utilize multi-threading and the ability to feed information to the GPU more heavily they at least could have taken care of what they were spoon fed and made the game a smooth experience.

All that redundancy is part of the choppiness you get in town no matter how amazing your system is.

  • Regarding the recent string of screw ups.

@pahcren they removed the weapons you forged up to +14? Woooow. As if I didn't have enough reasons never to spend on this game again. Amazing that right after they decide to do these new CM streams to "revitalize" the community they screw up this royally again. GG Nexon NA as always.

  • Changes to the Premium Armor Runes description

Sadly since they've gone much more heavily to outsourcing their support odds are that you're getting Zendesk associates, and they often won't go out of their way to get things done outside of policy. You're very much right that they could easily revert it, and it amazes me that they wont. They messed up the description, and toeing the line is going to cost them real money for lost good will when they could have easily gained some by owning up to their part in the issue. Sorry that happened to you. It's especially disheartening in that the way this game is setup there's no guaranteed way to replace that gear on your own without spending real money or grinding to the point of hating the game.

This company has yet to figure out how to be consistent with how it interacts with its customers, which is just ridiculous this many years in.
