except I literally just stated why I "quit", and it was not for the reasons you stated...

can't you realize that ferghus and brynn ARE an issue for some players? clearly not all as some choose to remain, but they are an issue for some players such as myself. "the game would have died long ago" is reliant on EVERYONE disliking brynn and ferghus when in reality most of the people who continue to play Vindi only put up with it.

They can be frustrating if you're dumping money into them, or if you've got the mentality that you have to compete with those who either do dump money or are lucky, but they're hardly the biggest issue the game has. Lack of engaging content between updates is really what drives people from this game.

For real though, if this is the issue you most want to cry about, free to play games probably aren't for you.

What you're really not getting is that your perception does not equal reality. For me it has nothing to do with competition, and it has nothing to do with dumping money into RNG-based cash items. For me it is the simple fact that luck and not skill determine what you get. I have multiple +15s/14s, yet I can't get one on my main where I actually want it, which is just silly. What makes it worse is that on the second failure those items are gone forever. At least in TERA it's just throwing mats at it until you get there, but never actually losing progress on failure.

I get that you think your reasons = everyone's reasons, but they don't. You've been told that in multiple threads including this one. The most ironic thing is that you tell people that their reasons are not only not what they're actually saying and that they're lying about it, but that they are ridiculous when you're the one who threw a tantrum because we didn't have a Dye Event when you wanted it. Worse still the events going on at the time were actually very good for gearing up. You can continue if you like, it's already been demonstrated multiple times that logic doesn't affect you when you don't want it to so I'm done pointing it out to you.

  • Which of the new Hellfairy pets do you want?

this packs are so broken... i opened 60 packs and got NO PET NOR AVATAR SET!!! just a bunch of dyes, cheap coupons and some misc i can barely sell for any gold. Nexon must have something against me cuz i see people getting pets at the first 5 packs some even TWICE!!! it was the same thing with the elchulus wings and i opened 400 packs. so tell me Nexon what did i do to deserve or in this case not deserve something nice out of these packs? have i not supported the game enought???

You fell for the Gambler's Fallacy, unfortunately. You think that if you open enough, or because you spend enough to support the system that you deserve to win or that you're guaranteed to win. There's nothing wrong with playing the boxes if you understand that the odds don't favor you, but having the expectations that you're entitled to win is just bad reasoning. "The house always wins", otherwise the house couldn't stay in business.

In the future what you should do is buy a few boxes for kicks if you're in the mood, know that you probably won't win, then buy what you want off the MP. Otherwise, you need to do what you did with the wings and buy however many boxes you need to get it with coupons, and then consider getting the item before then a bonus.

Lastly, it sucks that they get people like this because clearly it's actually had a pretty detrimental effect on you. Systems like this aren't very kind.

If you want to "compete" with people, you should expect to spend money and get burned, it's the nature of any P2W game tbh.

I'm looking at this from a casual perspective, people who get worked up over a free game's rng system are clearly investing themselves too much into the game.

People in this very thread have told you that they weren't tricked out of their money or addicted to the game, they just don't like the system. Your hyperbole is still pointless and your argument is empty and not based in reality.

The countless people who have quit because of Brynn/Ferghus disagree with you.

Once again, if someone quit because of Ferghus/Brynn, they didn't actually quit because of them, they quit because they have an unhealthy addiction to the game and got too invested.

All you can do is thank them for their hefty contributions to the game and laugh at them when they're gone. ;^)

Not really. Some players spend some money on runes without knowing the failure rates are so bad, or simply saying they'll give it a go, then see it as a bad investment and peace out. Some players do it and simply don't see it as getting their money's worth and leave. There are lots of other scenarios where people experience the enhance/enchant system and get tired/frustrated and quit without ever having an unhealthy addiction. Your tendency to see only extremes doesn't make your arguments valid.

  • Black Elchulas Wings

There's usually some middle ground between artificial scarcity generating sales and simply becoming a detriment to revenue, and Nexon doesn't seem to know where it lies. I can't imagine that they're using any real analytic tools to figure it out here.
