Sword Lann needs ANOTHER revamp.. Or better yet a "restore". Here's why:
Current Sword Lann now, as it stands, his damage is garbage. Movement speed in general, is garbage. The "constant" Furious buff is "nice" but what's the point in that if he can't keep up with a kited boss or do much damage in general? On top of that, he is the most gear-reliant character in the game next to Lynn.
Maybe his "revamp" came a bit too soon compared to other characters but now it's very much so needed and deserved, he needs to be restored. DevCat basically gave us candy and snatched it back, broke said candy into pieces, then handed out each piece to the other characters while the only thing Lann could do was watch. Lann as a character is a medium risk-low to medium reward character. At least when he had his revamped damage, there was some justification for his setbacks but now, he's all flash, no substance. Very little satisfaction in playing him anymore. Spear Lann gets the better end of short stick in Fury Infusion as well as having more i-frames in his Lightning Fury (which also ignores collision).
You have to actually put in a lot of work with Lann compared to most of the other characters- excluding Lynn of course but she's about to get her second weapon anyway (which doesn't change the fact that her Glaive skills still need help but it's SOMETHING). Most of these characters have a form of free damage as well as great maneuverability. Hell, both Evie and Arisha can clear a whole entire stage within seconds. Arisha in particular could be fighting CBH at one side of the stage, Diffusion Warp all the away to other side of the stage, chug a potion, and still have enough time to cast Resonance and HIT just to follow it up with a Counter Drain AND Ruin Blade. Don't get me started on either variants of Kai.. Hurk and both variants of Karok just face tank the whole time. Chain Vella.. Self explanatory. Sword Vella: CC+/Gale Splitter DC. Delia's Cosmic Blitz into Falling Comet or Ion Thrust. Fiona's counter. What do Lann and Lynn have? I'll wait. Slashing High only helps with attack speed and puts you more at risk so that's a double edged sword. Staff Evie is just a walking bomb in general: Staff Evie is basically a bombe: Save up Casts, nuke, rinse and repeat.
So yeah, just "RESTORE" Lann back to his revamped status even if that means taking away the "constant" Furious buff as well as give Glaive Lynn a bit more help as well.
He's the runt of the litter, essentially. But at least they stayed true to his backstory of being an orphan cast aside, having someone come help him out, just to have that taken away as well just because he got really good lol..
Joking aside.. The only fun male character(s) to play are Lann and Sylas, compared to the others. Not sure about Hurk though, made one but haven't gotten around to really learning + playing him.
Both variants of Kai & Karok get boring and stale pretty quick. But who cares about fun playstyles when you can have TOP DEEPS for low risk with Wreck it Ralph and CoD simulator lol.
In terms of style and flashiness, Sword Lann and Sylas are cool to play even though Sword Lann is in dire need of ANOTHER revamp and Sylas gets pretty boring at times too.
Overall, DevCat takes more time developing the female characters than the male characters and give them the best mechanics in the game while the male characters are a bit lackluster in comparison, as well as having more clothing options for armor/outfits. Female chars can easily switch between edgelord or casual, while male chars are mostly stuck with edgelord as very few other armors/outfitters can have offer a decent looking casual affect. Just my 2 cents~
I vote Dual Mana Pistols. They'd work well with her sassy/confident personality. Have a little twirling spin for a dodge, she'll strike different poses whenever she shoots/does a smash attack. Have a regular bullet mode, then switch to mana (enhanced) mana pistol mode similar to spellsword. As an ult for her, she'll shoot at the boss's various limbs and as it falls to its knees, she charges up a shot and headshots it into oblivion which is followed by her blowing off the mana-smoke away from her pistol. Sounds like a fun idea, if I may say so myself lol.
Option 2: if it simply MUST be done and you're that concerned with sales, then how about this.. Permabound the weapon of course, and go ahead and reduce the level of enhancement.. But don't make it so that it can't be enhanced any further. You want to increase your rune sales, right? Then let it downgrade a level, but keep the chance to enhance it further so that they'll have to buy more runes or risk not doing so and it having the chance to fail ('cause we ALL know that it'll fail more often than it'll succeed). If you go that route, remove the perma-boom thing all together and just charge more AP for restoration, which could also benefit sales by making AP capsules more valuable/important if someone doesn't want to farm, and you can do it without changing the success rates of enhancing. You win in sales, and the players eventually win with end game gear, everybody wins. (Also create a far more loyal, less toxic player base)
Option 3: Completely revamp it all together. Make it like the awakening system where you can add mats to it and have the chance of success gradually increase in somewhat small increments. You don't even need to create new items for this, just have the preexisting mats stack up for better rates. Can still use Goibniu's stones, but make them do what they actually suggest they do and increase the success rates, which'll also increase the sales of those as well. The only catch is, you'll need an INSANE amount of mats. (though this method is far too easy and thus, would't be accepted)
Either way, this director needs to be slapped for even proposing that idea to begin with..
Basically, it's a glitch/bug in the UI that's causing a bunch of issues. Your problem, along with a huge amount of lag in general are all talked about in the linked forum post. There's no way to really "fix" these issues atm, and the GMs/Devs haven't provided an explanation nor solution to it either despite the fact that it's been around for more than 7 months. Of course, the only response we've gotten in our wait so far is "We're looking into it"- both on the forum and when asked about it during their streams of new (to NA) content.
Only recommendation I can provide with dealing with your particular issue (as I have it too) is to be attacking when the camera rolls around to your character. If you use Lann or Vella, you can hold Gust Sting (or any charge skill a character has) until it moves on and you'll be fine without it the freezing or being sent back to town. Good luck, and I hope it helps. =/
