isn't Riordan supposed to be a pompus butt?
He's also supposed to be an intimidating commander more than he is pompous, and the KR voice gives him just that. It's why every other NPC is scared of him.

I hope so, Keaghan's got a great voice now, but Riordan still sounds terrible.
He at least sounds intimidating in KR, whereas our Riordan is just a pompous sounding butt.
The player character doesn't fight back in that cutscene because he/she is idealistic to a fault, Aodhan even points that out one time. He / She doesn't want to harm innocents, and those soldiers are just following orders.
I'd think it's mostly because he's boring. I love his look, and made one just because of it, but throwing a giant shuriken all the time gets boring. Other characters are at least less noticeable in their repetitiveness.
