  • CB's Forgotten Weapon Style!

    @Cream

If you play cb well enough, the amount of sp that glacial strike uses is insignificant, and glacial strike should not be prioritized before blood chill and blade dance in sp usage as I've mentioned before, but if you can spare the sp, Glacial Strike can be beneficial for its sp cost.

If you Glacial Strike as soon as your HOI timer hits 0, you will hit about an extra 3 seconds worth of damage compared to simply opting for avalanche at the end of your HOI duration. For sense of scale, my glacial strike can hit about 42k damage on average total every time i land it correctly. If I opt for avalanche, I will only do a fraction of that damage I would get from Glacial Strike. For the sp cost and how much excess sp you generate as a cb vella, i find it is often worth trying to land as often as possible. If you don't land it well, it won't detriment you at all since cb vella generates sp very easily, as wasting that sp will seldom deter you from continuing to use blood chill and blade dance at an optimal level.

time stamped : the timestamp here is to showcase my normal avalanche damage which is 10k if it crits and 5k if it doesn't.

now pay attention to the total damage i can pull off with a single glacial strike.

comparing numbers between a simple avalanche and a glacial strike shows that glacial strike can be very beneficial to your damage for its sp cost, but as i've mentioned it's all about landing glacial strike properly, which takes practice.

and as I've said before, i feel that cb vella is never in a really bad spot compared to the other characters of the cast, despite never being touched by devcat, but I do also agree with the sentiment that I wish devcat gave cb more attention as well.

with the new arisha balance which lets her start off with some mana, I would've appreciated if cb vella started with some stacks as well. :'(

I've been playing since December 2014 so I'm kind of an experienced player... and from all these years playing this game I realized that there are a few characters that are in need of buffs as soon as possible, right now I'm a Chainblade Vella and I have a +15 90 with all stats capped, 23k / 75+ speed / 90 balance / 142 crit / Additional damage 4400

I feel like I'm very experienced at the game but sadly, that experience can easily be beaten by "OP" characters, such as Sword Lann, Lynn (85 speed+), Fiona (both hammer and LS if 80 speed+), Delia 60 speed+, Sylas 75 speed+, and the one I hate the most... XGun Kai with literally ANY stats could beat you cuz he requires no skills whatsoever and his damage is just ridiculous.

I believe it's really unfair classes that requires lots of skill like Chainblade Vella (a character that even if you play perfectly you're head to head against any of the "OP" characters that I mentioned before )

I've played Chainblade Vella for a while so I believe I know what I'm saying... because right now I'm sick and tired of getting beaten by L*nns with 3400 AD against my 4400 AD.

Also you guys need to lower Fiona's LS damage a little bit, right now she's the one of the characters that deals insane amount of damage but requires no skill at all, I saw a video of a Fiona a few weeks ago... "Anner" or something that solo'd neamhain with only 4300 AD, which would be impossible for regular classes like Hurk, I tried with 4500 AD and barely made it to 5th bar... if you're gonna make Fiona that OP ATLEAST....make her hard to play, thank you.

  • Chainblade Vella Dullahan Solo

Quite a messy solo, but if any chainblades are wondering how to fight dulla efficiently, I hope this gives you some ideas :)

  • Lovely new trend

I may end up sounding condescending for this, but you can't feel entitled to being rev'd. Other players are not obligated to revive you either. If you go into a raid and die, that is on you and no one else. Whether or not someone decides to revive you is an action of goodwill.

That being said, I revive people who seem to know what they are doing in a raid who might've died to something stupid. If you feel entitled to someone else's resources until you "learn" a boss, I recommend going into practice mode and learning bosses to the point you can competently DPS and survive the fight in a party.

As for the TC, I send my condolences to you. It may be better to save the res for when it's safe
to do so. Its not always good to rush for the revival, depending on whether or not you can take a hit or two without dying in the process.

  • So who wants a RollBack?

I feel the biggest problem with Rise is that instead of making past raids more relevant, they decided to completely trivialize what is quite literally most of the game at this point. I was excited to hear that S2 "raids" were finally getting a hero mode, and was excited to try them out with my friends, but after destroying most of them in less than just a couple of minutes, I was terrified at what they did to this content.

Makes it even more puzzling when you consider that Hero mode was already locked to players that aren't maxed level yet.

When S3 released, S2 raids were kept relevant with the option of the lv80-90 difficulty mode, as well as the fact that they dropped r7 scrolls that season 3 did not at the time. When you think about RISE and what it did to previous content, it seems counterintuitive compared to what they did in the past. Devcat could have done something similar with this rise update when it came to past content, but they didn't.

It's not about recycling content solely for this nostalgia concept people are pushing; it's about making the game's content more relevant to veterans so there are more things to do; which I feel is very important for a game like vindictus that balances itself around its PvE elements.

While some want challenging new bosses with teamplay mechanics and whatnot (I understand and I'm fine with this) but you ahve to realise there are people that want just a sandbag boss without any annoying mechanics that cripple or limit your skillset (like me).

Before rise was a thing, if you wanted a sandbag boss, stuff like easier difficulties existed. Drawing back on what someone said on this forum before though, stupid players exist and will never do easier difficulties because "it's easy", but when they do harder difficulties, they'll just complain about mechanics and the boss crippling their skillset. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
