It felt so gud to beat a boss back in the days. The design of the rocheste raids were so incredible that they still haven't been surpassed yet. They were difficult and unforgiving, but they were never frustrating in difficulty. It was an experience players these days will never get to see again.
I think the game has been really going downhill after S1EP8 (glas and ingkells). Lionotus and colru were such troll raids for lann players they made so many gifs for that director back in the days kek. S2 was a mess and S3 was too late to save the day.
I'm ok with grinding runs 5 times a day for some guaranteed enthusiastic. Most people stay because they have gears to work for anyways. Challenging content...yea only if you solo stuff. Party runs are just a snoozefest most of the time after you do a run 100 times.
Let's just say this game was at its finest when Ingkells and glas was a thingy, and you make 1 mistake and you are dead in raids. That's what I would call challenging.
How do you define fun? If fun means closing your eyes + bind space to hp pots + holding down R -> get 40%+ dmg in a game while watching a TV show I'd rather not play.
A game stops being fun to me when gear2win is a major part. And this seems to be exactly where this game is heading to.
