As a fun fact, the character designer for this is Kunihiko Tanaka, perhaps best known for doing most of the Xeno series, most recently Xenoblade X. Also, best-known for making creepy doll eyes.
I keep it on, since I tend to move around a lot. Vindi doesn't really lock you into a facing between attacks, so you can change or tune direction without extra steps this way. Flows more naturally to me, versus having only 8 directions to attack in.
