I had the same problem after a new setup of windows 7. I use firefox but I could solve this by changing the security settings in the IExplorer to the lowest. Especially local intranet.
Within the german client it isn´t possible to join the battle "Southern Rock Cliff", in German" Südliche Steinklippen". Maybe there´s a problem with the Ü. I got the message "not permitted word"
