No. While it may give you the option to, it's actually color-locked. While it would be nice, it is goth makeup, so it's kind of expected to be black as your suffering soul.

Reward in relation to skill makes a lot more sense. If he's aggressively pulling off perfect smashes 100% of the time, he definitely deserves that top spot. So I guess balancing classes around the average player performance isn't too ridiculous.
