Story Changes
Character Backstory
- Added backstory for all characters
- The backstory of the selected character will be shown before entering the prologue
Skill Awakening
- You can now get a skill awakening stone as a reward of the story "Skill Awakening"
Story Map Camera Work Improvement
- Fixed the camera angle changing while in mouse mode during a story map after completing the battle
Story Icon Improvement
- Stories that must be finished to continue the primary story in Vindictus will show a "Main" icon in the Story Hints window
Icons will have different colors according to each season
Story List Revamp
- Added a new option to show Main Stories only
You can toggle this feature at the bottom of the Story window (it will be checked "On" by default)- While the feature is activated, sub-stories will not be shown in story window and NPC chat menus, and quest notification marks will be hidden
- Improved "Hide Stories" function
Stories that were hidden manually will not be shown in NPC chat menu- Main stories cannot be hidden
Story Progression Improvements
- You can now progress through many stories without visiting NPCs to speak with them
Press the Story Notification icon, shown in either the Story or Story Hints window, to immediately progress stories (such as talking with NPCs in Malina while in Colhen)- Some stories still require you to visit the NPC
- You cannot talk with NPCs who are not available due to your character's main story progress
- This function is enabled once a character finishes early tutorial quests
Story Improvements
- Most items required for stories have been changed to unique story items that are dropped only while you have that story
- Removed or modified unnecessary, repetitive or inconvenient requirements
- Some awkward or incorrect dialogues within stories have been changed
- Story hints are now more direct and easier to understand
For example, now story hints show exactly who you need to talk or where you need to go
- Story EXP rewards have been improved
- Goals and rewards from certain stories have been changed
- New stories have been added
- Some stories have been removed, but will remain completable for those that already had the story

For years we've been asking for one thing...... just one thing.... the PVP Ranking. And we get........ this. Seriously, I've known that this update is going to bring up some nasty things due to +20 enhancement, but I thought, what the hell,cash players are going to buy some runes and that way they will keep the game alive, nothing bad in that, BUT, I can't stand to see a .... "Ranking"... where a "wallet hero" is going to be first just because he "dropped" his credit card in Vindictus, I consider this a serious BS, an insult to non-cash players and I demand some explanation from the developer.
I know a lot of people are upset about various changes to end-game progression, but claims that those changes "destroy" the game are unfounded. The game does not revolve entirely around the hardcore, though I know many people seem to feel that it does. The smaller QoL changes and changes to encourage new players are far more important.
Presumably this is to prevent getting instagibbed due to stagger resistance. Getting instagibbed was always a danger while in trans, but that was a price of going pure offense with trans skills. But since stagger res is now more common, it makes sense to provide brief invuln, as long as it's very brief.
Way to turn this into another generic tank and spank game.
What's the point making changes for new players if they're going to end up quitting due to the endgame garbage ones ? As someone said already on this forums, people just gonna quit at lv90 now instead of lv 30-40... NOTHING changed, that's the problem of this update : the best it will do is to change NOTHING. I don't really know how it's exciting to try this out.. they literally threw out 6 years of this game's identity in the trash can, nothing else.
There were much better changes to do rather than literally made the game totally lose its identity... but they haven't listened to players feedbacks at all so, not so surprised anyway.
And if you think I'm hating, not really, I'm just sad because one of my most favorite game just died for me, everything I actually spent time for and enjoyed so far is now pretty much dead and the remaining content is simply "empty".

I think people are misunderstanding this sentence.
In the Korean Patch Notes, it doesn't say this anywhere.
What it says is, you will not take additional damage when you are in the flinch(?) motion.
You know, when you flinch after getting hit by Neam's purple tornadoes, and end up taking 5 more hits from the tornado during the flinch motion when you can't move, dodge, etc. and end up dying.
