I spent a good deal on the black friday boxes, hoping to get some of those outfits I missed out on. I did get a tieve outfit and a demon hunter outfit, but for the most part, I didn't even glance at the other things I got. An overwhelming number of the rewards I got were just various pots and other pointless things valued at far less than $5. I don't want to talk about the number of male outfits I have which I can't even trade and can't even use since I do not have a male char. Making it one time tradable honestly shouldn't have been that much to ask for. For now, at least, I am done buying these $5 unlucky boxes. I have spent quite a lot on this game over the past four-five years (it's in the four digit range right now), and I haven't regretted spending that money up until the $5 black friday box. At least the orchid fauna boxes that I spent money on were actually worth their value. While I am sure that there are whales much larger than me that will continue dumping money on the game, I do think this is a very poor way of encouraging players to spend money on the game. I should not feel relieved when I get the item I want by spending money. I should feel happy, or I should feel content and satisfied with my purchase. I'm not going to be too harsh on what nexon is doing just yet, since these are all just cosmetics and have very little impact on how the game plays out, but I do think that at this price point they are trying a bit too hard to squeeze money out of their paying playerbase.
Oh, and one more thing that is a very subtle but very smart trick nexon is using on these boxes is that spin wheel they use to display the other prizes you could have gotten. What you see in the other slots isn't actually what was in those slots. They just show you those slots as a means of saying "Oh hey! You were so close!" Then you see what you could have gotten and want to try again. Probably common knowledge at this point, but still, don't get suckered into it. Imagine if those extra slots didn't even show up. One would probably be far less tempted to try again...
Many have had your thoughts. The question is will you truly act as you say? =p Let's hope that you and others do, maybe things will change. I'm saving my money for other titles as of now. Tired of the RNG, even when spending real money it's involved, and that shows that Nexon wants your money, but they don't value you as a customer, only as a bottom line.
These same discussions have been going on for years, but until players stop spending on the RNG boxes nothing will change. Probably the most hilarious example was when the actual rates started being shown it seems people bought even more to show Nexon thanks for finally telling them outright how much they were being given the shaft.
I agree and will never buy a gambling box from nexon, not because I'm cheap (which I am) but because I'm not a sucker.
This should stop but it wont and you know why? Because there are a select few spending their paychecks gambling on boxes just like in every mmo I've played.
Also Ty to thoes select few who keep this game running.
This is not the first thread or the last one I have seen... but it always worked out for Nexon because they are spenders who is paying for these boxes.
Personally, I bought one box for fun and moved on.
I've never seen an outfitter that I absolutely must have. I'm over it. I don't begrudge "whales" subsidizing my mostly-free entertainment. It's scummy to exploit gambling tendencies for profit, but I empathize more with the company (which is comprised of people too) providing the game I enjoy than a small minority of other players.
According to some source, those outfitter are tradeable (in Airtight) and gonna cost you 400 coupons if you are not lucky enough to get it from the box. Not sure about the price of the box itself, but I don't think it will be higher than 2$. 5$ was the "special" price for Black Friday box with 6% chance, and normal gacha boxes only have 2% chance or so.
People see gachapon announcement and the possible high-tier rewards inside People protest these (outfitters, in this case) should all be available in cash shop People protest the random items they get (let me repeat, random) are not worth what they paid, you do know how lottery systems work, yes? People protest about how all of these items should be able to be traded by any means People fail to realize the purpose of gachapon boxes, and a lottery system.... People fail to realize this is always how the gachapon boxes have worked in Vindictus, and insanely repeat the above arguments until the event ends Wash, rinse, repeat.
Please give a civil response if any of the above is not part of the cycle, or if I missed anything?
Don't buy them if you want to protest, speak out to the company, but in the meantime many others are buying them up with no regard because they either don't care or are willing to accept the lottery factor that they may get great stuff or garbage. I don't care one way or the other. I might buy a couple on a whim if funds allow, otherwise I'll pass.

Outside of them leaving outfitters in gotchas, my major gripe is that we JUST had a Lucky Box sale not even a month ago, and now you're putting out ANOTHER?
You couldn't even wait a couple months before putting up the new one to let our wallets recover?
That's not going happen unless whales stop buying these boxes and to be perfectly honest In my opinion I think the only reason why the game hasn't being shutdown is because the whales keep buying these boxes. Most likely this comment will be delete or edited. I would love for vindictus to have all outfitters on sale all the time ever time including premium and not premium ones and the gatcha ones like the Iset outfitter and SQ for direct purchase. But they saw they get far more profits from selling rng boxes in which are like a casino the house always wins if you get my drift. So unless whales go cold turkey stop completely it wont happen.

Indeed, it's only a matter of time before many more Vindictus players who put a lot of money into the game stop playing and simply move on to other games. These back to back lucky boxes is a sign that something is terribly wrong, and I don't think having monthly gachapons will make the game successful monetarily. It might work in the short run, but the steady decline of this game in the long run will be something hard to deal with especially if the voices of players are not heard.
Boycotting them is a waste of time. This is why free2play is so rabidly successful. If the vast majority didn't buy them, it would ultimately make little difference because the 1%-5% they want buying them are going to regardless. Majority vote no longer has any value when it comes to free2play. The only people with a say are the whales. You'll learn to walk on water before you convince them to not spend money supporting scummy business.
These lucky boxes is a direct ticket for people to do nothing in game to earn gold and be a shiny useless pro. Just gamble away your real life money to get sets then sell on market, I know a few people who just sell keaghan and iset set, 800M boom earned like a certain aquatic mammal queen. Its not much difference to gold buying if you ask me.
That's the most hilarious part. Vindi Global's team swears up and down that they won't allow P2W and as such didn't want Tir coins because it would be P2W, yet they'll sell airtight items in gambling boxes. Somehow because you have to spend more money at times to get those things of value to be sold for gold it doesn't fit their definition of buying your way into the best gear. The double-talk and equivocating in those threads is hilarious and sad all at the same time.
Well what exactly do you win from gatcha boxes other than pure disappointment from NOT getting the airtight item you wanted? These pieces of gear don't exactly give epic stats that make one overpowered for said raids, and even if they did, it only lasts for a limited amount of time, where it slaps you in the face for even buying them in the first place.
Other pieces you get from these boxes are purely cosmetic or increase durability and don't benefit the player's stats in any way, shape, or form.
Funny how rolling something crappy from those boxes can be easily traded for 10 god cloths/heaven leathers. It's ironic to tell the truth.
It's just another excuse/ploy so they can milk more money from the whales while at the same time appease to the F2Ps that grind their Butts off on a daily basis making gold.
Wonder what the succubus pet boxes are gonna bring to the table? probably more disappointment.

You get airtight items that you can sell for gold, and then buy whatever items you need. There were people who made billions off of just a few lucky drops in the Fauna boxes back during the summer, and there are still people making a few hundred million per item off of costumes and runes that they saved. Again, it's okay to gamble until you get enough airtight items to sell for all the gold you need, that's not P2W according to Nexon, but being able to sell Tir Coins to players so that they can buy NX items and then using that gold to buy that same end game gear is P2W. The logic is non-existent.

The irony!
