To me, the big selling point to Merc pots was you could bring a LOT of them into a mission. Back when Merc pots were a new thing, the potion limit for Regulars and Fines was 16 of each, … (more)whereas you could bring up to 400 Merc pots and never have to worry about running out.
The new potion system with no animation and a short cooldown is actually a good thing in and of itself, but the fact that you can still bring 400 of any potion trivializes it to the point where you can just chug your way through any mission without consequence.
The fix? Keep Merc pots with their limit of 400 and reduce the number of Regular/Fine/Superior pots you can carry into a mission (preferably the old limit of 16, possibly even less). Then you'd have to actually think about when to use them and make the most of them, because you just might run out in a lengthy sandbag. People would learn to appreciate Healing Corona and Regeneration too. (less)
