For those that don't know, the coupons basically work like this:
On use, the coupon rolls between 1 and 5 stars. [My personal estimations are 1 and 2* rolls are ~65%, 3* rolls are ~30-35%, … (more)4* is ~1%, and 5* is under 0.5%]. For instance, the coupon rolls a 2* in this case.
The next step is checking if the item is under the coupon level. If the item matches or exceeds the quality roll, nothing happens. Otherwise, the quality is changed to the roll of the coupon. (less)

responses to this thread, but unless im missing something, no one yet has actually directly answered my original question, so ill rephrase & ask agan.
I was told (im asking about reg quests not raids), that HERO mode was not available on any S! quests anymore, but was available on some S2 quests & most S3 quests. Is this true & if so what are the requirements now to be able to run HERO?

Hero Mode is automatically unlocked for available quests at level 90. Nothing needs to be done. Only certain battles have it - namely about half of the old level 60 season 1 and 2 raids, plus the current raids from Regina through Dullahan. Season 3 non-raids do not have it, nor does Niflheim, Royal Army, Abyssal, Special, etc. (less)
