I would also like to add, as I read on inven forums that Koreans used to do it until Devcat patched it in season 4 test server - in mission 2 you can send the ally to pick up the loot before the monsters spawn.
I saw that, but unfortunately that's not what I meant. I forgot who told me about it or where I saw it, but it was before that was posted. Thanks for trying though.
It was part of devCat's "developer's notes" \ "gremlin talk" or whatever it's called. They said in the notes they have plans to make both Balor and Neamhain easier* following Brigit's (third redeemer) release. These changes are not even out in Korea (as Brigit is not even out in Korea).
* To my understanding easier means both:
a) Easier stat bar progression (and maybe even Full Force progression)
and
b) The battles themselves getting a difficulty nerf
My gnoll and gremlin also have these special abilities so I think it's safe to rule that special abilities apply per species. Now it's only left to find out whether the superior versions are different.
Dog: 15 points | Special Ability: none
Gremlin: 20 points | Special Ability: Antiquity Points+10
Bear: 20 points | Special Ability: EXP+15%
Gnoll: 20 points | Special Ability: Expedition Points+8
Wolf: 20 points | Special Ability: ??? (I assume its special ability is Decreased Mission Time+X% because that's the only ability that is left)
Lugh (and possibly other gacha pets): 30 points | Additional Ancient Relic upon Grant Discovery+1
Superior Gnoll: ???
Superior Gremlin: ???
Superior Wolf: ???
Superior Bear: ???
