List of Staff Evie bugs

Greetings,
together with the help of a few members on the Vindictus discord i have compiled a list of bugs and issues that have been affecting Staff Evie players for a long time. The issues range from smaller annoyances to losing out on alot of damage during raids. We would love to see alot of these issues investigated and hopefully some of them fixed.
I have tried my best to elaborate on how these issues affect gameplay and listed steps to reproduce where ever possible. Because the list is rather long, I have created a Trello bug tracking board, which lists these issues in detail:

⭐ (((Rage Conductor))) ⭐

[1]⚡Ending early

[Rage Conductor] is sometimes ending early after just a short animation, dealing no damage.

[2]⚡Beam not spawning

[Rage Conductor] beam is sometimes not spawning, dealing no damage
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start casting [Rage Conductor] skill
2. During wind-up animation keep repeatedly opening and closing guildmenu or otherwise cause the game to stutter.
3. [Rage Conductor] continues to cast and animate, but the beam of light is missing resulting in no damage.

[3]⚡Beam is obstructed by objects, pets and projectiles

Rage Conductor's Beam is blocked by objects, projectiles and even pets which will prevent dealing damage.

⭐ (((Continual Focus))) ⭐

[1]⚡Unresponsiveness

Using [Continual Focus] sometimes is blocked/unresponsive until you walk.
Presumably this is due to the character being in a certain animation, from which it cant transition to casting spells.

[2]⚡Unresponsive Z Key

After using [Continual Focus] the Z key becomes completely unresponsive.
This is only resolved by stopping/resetting Evie's animation.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start walking
2. Use [Continual Focus]
3. Continue walking
4. You are unable to use the hot-bar skill associated with Z key

[3]⚡Casting buff is ignored

[Continual Focus] has casting animation + sound but the buff is not applied if a spell is casted too fast right after using [Continual Focus].
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use [Continual Focus]
2. Use new spell very quickly (preferably from [Casting Save]), sometimes resulting in the spell being casted before, and [Continual Focus] not being cast.

[4]⚡Focus level is stuck after regaining focus

Sometimes the focus level is stuck after regaining focus and you cannot charge to any higher level.

[5]⚡Buff is cast without cooldown/SP cost and does not work

[Continual Focus] is cast for free (no SP cost or cooldown) and the buff is applied, but does not work initially. The buff will work the second time you try to use it.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use [Continual Focus]
2. Use new spell very quickly (preferably from [Casting Save]), sometimes resulting in the buff appearing, but [Continual Focus] wont cost SP or go on cooldown
3. The active [Continual Focus] buff won't work
4. Use another spell
5. Use the current [Continual Focus] buff again, which will work this time

[6]⚡Spells that just became available are lost when trying to cast

[Continual Focus] reduces the cooldown of skills in the same focus level, that the buff was currently used for.

When using a spell that just became available, due to this effect, it won't be cast at all, but immediately gain a new cooldown.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Cast one spell (e.g. [Fire Shock])
2. Save the spell with [Casting Save]
3. Use [Continual Focus] to gain its buff
4. Wait for the first spell's cooldown to be near, or under 4 seconds.
5. Use a different spell of the same focus level of the spell that was saved
6. Use [Continual Focus] to regain focus level and decrease the cooldown of the first spell (so it becomes available again).
7. Use the first spell with the regained focus level.
8. The first spell will not be cast, but go on a new cooldown instead

⭐ (((Casting Save))) ⭐

[1]⚡Lose multiple saved spells

Lose multiple spells from [Casting Save] when casting.
This bug will reapply cooldowns on any of the saved spells. Even if they were already on cooldown.

This bug skips any kind of animation in general, at the start of battles. So emotes and probably other attacking skills, even for other classes are affected too. In Staff Evie's case however, additionally all spells on [Casting Save] are lost.

Steps to reproduce (Method 1):
1. Enter Macha/Balor/Brigid/Aodhan raid (these have high likelyhood of this bug appearing)
2. Save up spells with [Casting Save].
3. Begin Boss battle
4. Cast spell from [Casting Save].
5. Some or all spells from [Casting Save] and [Continual Focus] buff are lost.

Steps to reproduce (Method 2):
This issue occurs randomly during raids.
Higher likelyhood in Brigid.

[2]⚡Unresponsiveness of casting spells

Using spells saved to [Casting Save] sometimes is blocked/unresponsive until you walk.
Presumably this is due to the character being in a certain animation, from which it can't transition to casting spells.

This is happening really frequently after using [Continual Focus].
The sprinting animation seems to be another one of the problematic animations that need to finish first.
This didn't use to be the case.

[3]⚡Lose spells instantly

Sometimes spells skip completely instantly after using them.
They go on cooldown but wont deal any damage.

[4]⚡Spells are used in wrong order

If you press the hotkey associated with the second [Casting Save] slot twice, it will cast the second skill, and then erroneously the skill in the first slot

Steps to reproduce:
1. Save up 3 spells to [Casting Save] slots
2. Press hotkey for second slot (2nd slot spell will be used)
3. Press hotkey for second slot again (1st slot spell will be used)

[5]⚡Wrong spell is cast

Sometimes the wrong [Casting Save] slot is used, even though the keyboard input is correct.

[6]⚡UI is hidden at mission start

Sometimes the [Casting Save] UI elements as well as player names are not showing up.
This can be fixed by hiding the whole UI and turning it on again.

It can be caused by leaving early during ending cinematic from missions (for example by using /leave command)
It appears randomly too though.

1- View Cinematic ending after killing a boss
2- Leave to town (Invisible UI, Example: Host left before you get UI)
3- Enter any mission/boat
4- [Casting Save] icons are invisible
5- Requires Hide and Show UI to fix it

[7]⚡Hotkeys lead to quick bar slots being used

Default Hotkeys (ALT+1/2/3) will sometimes lead to the respective quick bar slots 1-3 being used, potentially cancelling out spell animations (in case of campfire etc)

This is not an issue with pressing hotkeys 1-3 accidentally after pressing ALT+1-3.
It is an issue with multiple different inputs (ALT+1/2/3 and 1/2/3) being applied from the same singular input event (ALT+1/2/3).

[8]⚡Unresponsiveness of saving spells

Sometimes spells cant be saved to [Casting Save] quickslots, and are used instead. If they are on cooldown, the Evie is stuck doing nothing.

[9]⚡Use hotbar spell without cooldown

You can use some hot-bar spells without cooldown when canceling skills immediately.

* Transformation Spear isn't affected
* [Reverse Gravity] isn't affected, but the saved magic is lost
* [Rage Conductor] is completely lost and the cooldown is applied

Steps to reproduce:
1. Save up spell with [Casting Save]
2. Use hotbar skill (e.g. [Healing Corona])
3. Immediately use the spell saved to [Casting Save]
4. The skill on hotbar will be used with either no cooldown or no animation applied.
5. The spell on [Casting Save] will be lost

⭐ (((Mana Amber))) ⭐

[1]⚡Damage during perfect block

[Mana Amber] showing perfect block but allowing damage from different sources or multiple near instant hits of an attack. (no universal iframe)

[Mana Amber] showing perfect block but allowing damage right when releasing perfect block (no lingering iframe).
Perfect Amber has no delay and thus can be instantly released. But it allows damage from even the same attack that was blocked by [Mana Amber]

High likelyhood in:
Aodhan: Lightning-fields spawning on ground underneath character while Aodhan attacks.
Titan: Throwing spears
Dullahan's Lasers: Blue Orbs (Block first Laser, then get damaged by Orb)
Balor: Horse killing enemies spawns wave AoE. Blocking wave first, then Balor's attacks it will allow damage. It is disregarding the "perfect" block on blocking the wave.

[2]⚡Spell animation is repeated

Using [Mana Amber] during casting spells sometimes causes the same spell to animate a second time.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use [Fire Storm](T2 fire).
2. Use [Mana Amber] very quickly during [Fire Storm](T2 fire) animation
3. After exiting [Mana Amber], [Fire Storm](T2 fire) animation is being played again. This animation cannot be cancelled and the spell is dealing no damage.

Using [Continual Focus] or [Flying Sparrow] to regain focus level results in T1 spell
Steps to reproduce: (Method 1, [Continual Focus])
1. Use [Continual Focus] to gain the buff
2. Use T3 spell
3. Use Mana Amber and release immediately (by releasing after perfect block)
4. Hold smash button directly afterwards to use [Continual Focus] buff and regain T3 focus level.
5. Cast or save new spell very quickly, sometimes resulting in only focus level T1 spell being casted, because [Continual Focus] buff was not consumed.

Steps to reproduce: (Method 2, [Flying Sparrow])
1. Use [Flying Sparrow]
2. Use [Mana Amber] while still in [Flying Sparrow] animation
3. Release [Mana Amber]
4. Keep holding Smash key to gain focus level 2
5. Sometimes only focus level 1 is gained

[4]⚡Character stuck after perfect block with instant release

Evie can get stuck after a perfect block with instant release.
In this state no movement is possible for a few seconds.

[5]⚡Unresponsive after ending animation

[Mana Amber] becomes unresponsive after ending any animation when used during a spell or hopping.
This only happens if you used [Mana Amber] during the animation.
As soon as the animation ends playing, there is an increased delay in registering [Mana Amber].

[6]⚡Hit effects during iframe (green skin/bleed)

Mana Shield didn't get hit, but the green skin effect appears anyway.
Sometimes even the bleed effect is shown, even when no damage was taken.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use almost any magic
2. Use [Mana Amber] immediately during the spells animation
3. Some clothes will appear partly invisible
Not only clothes are affected: some staffs become invisible too

[9]⚡Perfect Block Effect not always visible

The visual effect for perfect blocks (using [Mana Amber] at the perfect time) is not always displayed. Sometimes the normal block effect is showing up instead, even when perfect [Mana Amber] is active.

This causes confusion, as you never really know if you are currently using perfect [Mana Amber].

[10]⚡Can't begin "perfect" block timing during iframes

[Mana Amber] can't be triggered during iframes from other sources, since no "hit" will occur.
If the first iframe's time runs out, there is no iframe anymore and [Mana Amber]'s timing will always be wrong for "perfect" blocks, even if you blocked with the right timing for "perfect" blocks before.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Aquire iframe from alternative source (Revive by Goddess Grace, guild/normal feather, practice mode, transformation iframes, ...)
2. Use [Mana Amber] with perfect block timing before the iframe timer runs out
3. [Mana Amber] cannot be triggered and no perfect block is in effect
4. Get hit by "strong" attacks that require perfect guard, even with perfect timing, when the initial iframe timer runs out

⭐ (((Elemental Mastery))) ⭐

[1]⚡Mastery stack not applying

Mastery stacks are not applying correctly if you cast spells of the same element too fast after each other
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use [Fire Storm](T2 fire) spell
2. Use [Firebolt](T1 fire) spell very quickly, canceling [Fire Storm](T2 fire) animation
3. Damage of [Fire Storm](T2 fire) is applied but no empower stack is gained

Example 2:
Both spells get affected by the mastery you had before the spell landed.
So say I have one lightning mastery stack. Using [Lightning Wave](T2 lightning) and [Guided Lightning](T3 lightning) from afar, if [Guided Lightning](T3 lightning) is cast before [Lightning Wave](T2 lightning) lands, they both will have only the level 1 mastery effect (1 stack), and you're ending up with 2 mastery stacks instead of 3.

[2]⚡Hitting corpses applies mastery stack

All of Evie's spells can still hit monster's hitboxes, even after their death.
When they register a hit on enemy corpses, elemental mastery stacks can still be gained/lost depending on stack amount.

This seems to work better for spells that have potential to push the target.

[1]⚡Applying damage but no empower stack

[Fire Shock](T3 fire) is sometimes applying damage but no empower stack. This results in missing [Set Ablaze] effect.

[2]⚡Hitbox smaller than firetrail hitbox

The hitbox of [Fire Shock]'s firetrail is larger than the spell itself, resulting in the spell missing, but the firetrail dealing damage, which makes no sense.
The [Fire Shock] hitbox should be the same size as it's trail.

[3]⚡Two different aim directions are used

[Fire Shock] and it's fire trail are not being cast in the same direction

Fire Shock spawns in character aim direction
while the fire trail spawns in camera aim direction

Spells in general should prefer camera aim direction over animation aim direction

[4]⚡Unable to hit certain bosses

Due to autoaim that cannot be turned off completely and [Fire Shock]'s small hitbox it is sometimes impossible to hit large bosses.
Meanwhile the firetrail that is left behind still deals damage, as it should.

Titan
Glas Ghaibhleann (both versions)
Elchulus (Devil's Tower)

[5]⚡Agares/Callidus marking because of Fire Shock trail

Agares/Callidus marks you if [Fire Shock](T3 fire) is burning
Steps to reproduce:
1. Join Agares raid
2. Lower Agares health to 6 bars
3. Wait for Agares to use his shout skill
4. Before/During shout animation cast [Fire Shock](T3 fire)
5. Remain completely still, to not trigger the mark by other actions
6. Agares shout skill marked you because of fire burning on the ground

⭐ (((Focus))) ⭐

[1]⚡Tier 1 spells skip to Tier 2 spells

Example: [Firebolt](T1 fire) skips to [Fire Storm](T2 fire)

Sometimes the character becomes stuck in focus animation and is unable to move sideways. Movement is then only possible in one straight line.
The issue is resolved after pressing smash again.

The stuck in focus animation happens when you focus right after using [Mana Amber] to block certain projectiles without moving or doing anything else beforehand like Havan's flying sand ball attack.

[5]⚡Regaining focus level results in T1 spell

Sometimes after regaining Focus, a level 1 Spell will be wrongly used instead.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Activate [Continual Focus] buff
2. Use any T3 spell
3. Press Smash key to consume [Continual Focus] buff and regain focus level
4. Try to use any T3 spell
5. Evie casts T1 spell instead of T3 spell and [Continual Focus] is consumed

⭐ (((Meteor Swarm))) ⭐

[1]⚡Boss [Tenacity] bar limits stun duration to half

The blue [Tenacity] bar of new bosses like Cesar limits [Meteor Swarm] to be able to hit only once.
At the time of the second hit of [Meteor Swarm] the boss will already have regained Tenacity, which makes the second hit unable to stun.
This is happening every time, even when not using [Werewolf Paw].

[2]⚡Stun is not applied but [Tenacity]-bar is filled

[Meteor Swarm]'s stun is not applied.

Particularly in Nyle, or other bosses with [Tenacity]-bar, it will still refill and prevent other people from stunning.

[3]⚡Skipping animation

[Meteor Swarm] is sometimes skipping the first part of its animation, resulting in no second knockdown and really short stun duration

[4]⚡Aodhan only knocked down once during wave-attack

Aodhan can be stunned during his wave-attack but does not receive the second knockdown from [Meteor Swarm] so he gets up early.

Also his wave attack is still performed and can't be interrupted.

[5]⚡Aim does not target boss

There is some discrepancy between the selected spot when aiming [Meteor Swarm] and the target that gets selected.
[Meteor Swarm] will sometimes change its target location and not hit the boss.
The auto aim mechanic of [Meteor Swarm] can even select non-boss entities like Cesar's spinning flame and cause the skill to miss.

[1]⚡Initial stun is delayed

The initial stun of [Reverse Gravity] is delayed which often leads to being interrupted or the first tick not stunning.

Sometimes the first "tick" of gravity does not stun the enemy, which remains up until the second stun of [Reverse Gravity] occurs or even for the whole duration of [Reverse Gravity].
The stun should apply as soon as possible and not rely on 2 chances to stun the boss.

[2]⚡Hitbox smaller than animation/effects

The hitbox of [Reverse Gravity] is tiny compared to it's animation and effects. This is confusing and often results in bosses not being stunned even when they are close.
[Reverse gravity]'s range should be adjusted to fit the visual effects.

[3]⚡Boss stuck on player's head

Bosses can get stuck on top of other players after being lifted by [Reverse Gravity].
Their AI is unable to move until the player they are stuck on moved away.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use [Reverse Gravity] on some bosses
2. Move other player just below the Boss
3. Boss becomes permanently stuck on top of the other player.

[4]⚡Ignored by enemies in certain animations

[Reverse Gravity] cannot stun an enemy that is in certain animations, or already stunned.
This also makes it impossible to follow up on other people's stuns.

⭐ (((Invisible Wall/Ground))) ⭐

⚡Spells with straight flight are blocked

It happens in many raids that Spells with a straight line (T1 lightning, T2lightning/ice and T3 fire) are being blocked and are dealing no damage.
This can be caused by un-even ground or other invisible hitboxes of terrain.

[2]⚡[Meteor Swarm] skipping

The Speed buff shortens the stun animation in such a way that [Meteor Swarm] does not hit bosses with a second knockdown, which means they get up again very quickly.

It also increases the likelyhood of [Meteor Swarm] skipping the entire first part of animation.
This results in no second knockdown and really short stun duration.

[3]⚡Speed buff decreases duration of [Mana Amber]

Speed buff decreases duration of [Mana Amber] skill to ~2.5 seconds.
This makes certain boss attack patterns that are ~3 seconds long impossible to block while the speed buff is active.

As a second negative impact, the speed boost also messes with the timing required for performing a "perfect" [Mana Amber]:
It will start faster and you need to be hit earlier than normal to trigger "perfect" [Mana Amber].

⭐ (((Regeneration))) ⭐

⚡Attack speed doesn't apply to spells cast directly after

If you cast a spell after casting [Regeneration], that spell will be cast without attack speed bonus. So it will be very slow.

The same issue occurs when pets use Regeneration on you.
