Ahhh, okay. So here's what these oils do: they crank your texture bar all the way up on the face and body. It's basically a free alteration coupon just for body shine.
I actually really don't like the shine and wish I could go absolute zero on the body like you can on the face...
I prefer to be called bronzed. Thank you very much.... Or at least just refer to me as laminated.

The item says it gets reset when you use a appearance alteration coupon
Reset as in you can toggle it again or reset as in it removes it completely?
From what I heard, if you change your appearance with an alteration coupon after using the oil, it wipes it from your character completely and you can't use the oil ever again. It's really stupid.
Pretty much if you want to use the oil and keep it forever, make sure your character's appearance is precisely how you want it prior to using the oil.
