Right now SWORD >>>>>> HAMER BY FAR. and I mean a long far. Few of the reasons being not just the overal damage in parties and solo, but the sheer mechanical and rotation advantages a sword has over hammer. ALltho the DPS difference is not THAT big, the mechanical part of the Sword outclasses hammer by a LOAD. Let me show examples.
4th smash Damage: Sword > Hammer. Stigma gets close to Amaranth only after second charge, which is ridicolous.
4th smash > Recovery time with block = Sword > Hammer
SHield Bash : Sp skill: Sword fiona starts from 3rd attack.: Sword > Hammer
Counterattack damage:: Sword > Hammer.
Normal Smashes variety and range: Ivy Sweep clears half a room of trash mobs Sword > Hammer. (Unless hammer SH on)
Attack speed of normal hits, hitboxes and general smashes: >Sword >> Hammer.
One of the biggest things that Sword has and Hammer does not, is the Shield Bash being able to recover from Amaranth and chain to 3rd hit immediately Which gives Sword fionas amazing 4th smash spam utility:
Amaranth>Deflect> Amaranth >Shield bash(dodge 1 attack) >Attack>Amaranth .
Or in scenarios where gap between the attack after Deflected amaranth and your recovery is enough to land perfect block:
Amaranth> deflect> Amaranth >Counterx2 >hit> Amaranth.
not only that Sword has that Shield bash that lets her dodge and cancel her amaranth in emergency situations but also makes her loose less dps if you miss your 4th smash and need whole second to recover from it like Hammer does. Not only that but Amaranth is faster to execute which gives more use when the gap is smaller unlike Stigma which will get you hit in many situations where Amaranth wouldnt.
Stigma basicaly doesnt even have deflect on Stigma itself. Becase lvl 3 flinches bosses, So he wont attack you second time for deflect. And Deflected one leaves you open for whole second, making it very limited on use at fast bosses. While Amaranth has 2 seconds time OMFG after finishing the move to deflect and attack back with kick. YOu can literally WAIT boss and drink coffee for next hit, and than deflect right into Amaranth again. Which you can Cancel with Shield Bash, or Focal Point into even more DMG,
CHANGES SUGGESTION:
Stigma hammer 0 charges dmg = Amaranth dmg. that should've been normal from start.
Shield Bash > Can cancel Stigma hammer recovery animation.
Shield Bash > Hammer also starts from 3rd hit like sword.
Large shield: Passive:( Heavy Load): Increase damage from Smash attacks by 20% and Sp gain by 30%.
This would put its usefullness to both weps for some bosses, yet the DPS gain would be almost like Small Shield Enhanced Counter.
you cannot counter , but your overal smashes would do bit more dmg. Which would benefit Hammer more than Sword, since they have Shield Enhancement already.
SUGGESTION 2:
Make Shield enhancement usable for Hammers as well.
Shield bash can interupt Stigma hammer
Shield Bash: hammer starts with 3rd hit.

Fiona has very little mobilty in fight. Sure you can chase boss with dashes but IN middle of fight your roll has no dodge/block frames. Which makes it hard to dodge big red attacks sometimes and its hard to position yourself with hammer if you are not perma SH.
Other classes have dodges that actually Move them a LOT.
Every single class. Has a Oshit button that moves you far away or protects you with Iframe. We dont.
Our blocks have to be perfect to block most attacks and our mobility is crappy to avoid red attacks.
Damage wise, we are solid at best. In middle. Hurk, Lann, Scythe, Arisha, Sylass being ahead always/most of the times.
We are not fluid either. They treat Stigma Hammer like OmGMassWeaponOfDestruction while it rly isnt. Low range, slow, long recovery time. It just isnt.
Hammer cant even interupt Stigma lockdown recovery with SP skills like:
Shield Bash
Focal point
Hell, we cant even chain focal point and our AoE clear is sad.
Sword has Ivy Sweep kick which covers large aoe with descent SP gain unlike Buttercrap swing which has lower range than normal attacks and does LESS damage the more you use it.
Give us fluidity. Let us be the shield maiden that swings around with heavy hammer, deflecting midway and move fluidly.
Make Stigma Hammer animation be interuptable with Shield Bash and Focal point.
I want that satisfaction of hitting Stigma right before being hit, deflecting it into another one, and than swiftly using Shield Bash MIDWAY to dodge next attack that boss chains. And continuing into 3rd hit, buterfly combo.
We are Hammer users. We dont have 20k counter atrack spam, and 30k focal point chains.
We have to position, we have to manage our SP, we have to know bosses.
Let us chain our combo and feel alive while we are Hammering like Swords do. Its not Sword vs Hammer thread guys. We are all Fiona players here.

So little would mean so MUCH to us hammers.
for comparison, Hurk, scythe, staff evie, Hammer Fiona and vella needed 2k+ limit release. Arisha needed +15 weapon at least. the rest of the chars stood no chance in finishing neamhain at all. With that said, LS is already around 30% stronger than Tier 2 solo class(except Arisha) , and 50%~70% stronger than the rest
in your post you basically just turn hammer into another LS . what is the point then playing hammer at all? you could just play LS and you already have it all.
You were stressing the part that playing fiona requires a perfect timing for dodging and block, or mobility and stuffs, that has nothing to do whether she's strong or not. Just because player isn't skilled enough doesn't make her "too strong".
