Lord Glas breakoff : spears not flinching

I've been trying to do the lord glas breakoff, but the results are very inconsistent. Most of the time, the spears hit but do nothing...there is no flinch. I am only spearing his armguards when he is knocked down on both knees (usually via skills like execution, shield charge, or accumulated knockdown from smashes) and nobody is using 1000 sp disables, prey dive, or anything that can prevent breakoffs from working. I can clearly see the goddess spears sticking out of his armguards, but he simply does not flinch.

Am I missing an extra step here? Usually when his barrier is broken, he will stand up, roar, and then go down on both knees due to accumulated knockdown from smashes while his barrier is up. I thought that perhaps, he is bugged in that he cannot be flinched for the breakoff when this happens, so I tried spearing only when he was knocked down via execution. No flinch either.

Sometimes, I can flinch him, but I cannot tell why it works sometimes and does not work most of the time.

Nobody was using disables, prey dive, or anything else that would block the breakoff. Both goddess spears hit the armguards, but did absolutely nothing.

If the videos don't work, veoh is probably still in the process of encoding them or something.

I mean sure, sometimes you hit something with spears but the game glitches and it doesnt count for some dumb reason (even if you are soloing), but at least 75% of the time the spears result in no flinches even though they clearly hit, and nobody is blocking the breakoff via 1000 sp disables or anything. It feels like im missing either an extra step necessary to do the breakoff or the hitbox for the breakoff is just completely broken.

I looked at breakoff vids on youtube, but they are mostly just some fiona doing solo breakoff after using shield charge and I dont see anything special about how they are spearing.

Anyone have any ideas?

I find it that it works if you hit on the top portion of his bracers. I've never had any success while aiming dead center to his bracers.

When you say top portion, do you mean the part closest to his hand or farthest away?

Main problem you having is that you are spearing two different breakoff spots. You ahve to spear his right guanlet twice for flitch, and that the one that gives the extra core. His left guanlet is just mission bonus. So attack the same guanlet twice and he will flintch.

for the second video since you already hit his left guanlet once the first time he went down, when you broke his shield again and you through the spear at his right Guanlet that counted as the second hit thus the flinch.

Yuria, the point i was making is that neither of the spears flinched at all. I tried spearing the right first, no flinch. So I tried the left armguard. Still no flinch. Ive got other videos in which I have speared the same armguard twice in a row and no flinch occured.

Also, both armguards give the mission bonus. Ive done the right breakoff before and it gives both extra core + mission bonus.

I have hit the same armguard multiple times throughout the battle with no flinch at all.

I know that invisible hole bug is here from Glass release but if they would fix the break off bug this could be fixed too

Don't it need 2 hits for 1 flinch, 2 flinch for 1 break off?

2 spears for 1 flinch, it breaks on second flinch. Bracelets on both sides can be broken, but only one gives BO (I think it's his left - right as You look at it, but I don't remember for sure). Aim slightly higher so it actually hits the center.

Vladino, i watched those same videos on youtube. But they dont explain why I can sometimes hit the same armguard with 4+ spears in a raid and it causes no flinch. With nobody using disables/prey dive/etc.

Because it's probably bugged now. 3rd and 4th video I recorded today. Those 2 spear hits should flinch him and it was the same run but no break off with second hit (if some1 argues that my aim was off then no it is sticking out of the bracelet and both spears should flinch him). If some1 still doesn't believe me it would be best if they actually tried it and post video of success (EDIT: I'm talking about doing Lord Glass break off because I think it's impossible to do now or dev made some ninja change and you need more spears or changed spot of break off).

The hit box is very specific on where you have to hit him. I usually aim at the upper base (closest to his shoulder) and it works just fine. Another thing is you have to hit at his side, not in front or behind Glas.

^ So have you actually managed to get breakoff anytime now? I have tried solo and no luck with it. Would be best if someone formed a bo party and posted result here (for example screenshot with bonus mission complete would convince me that it's not bugged) or whole video of the fight with breakoff.
