New Enhancement Chart!

At many people's insistence, I remodeled my old Enhancement Chart to accommodate the new changes brought forth by our 1-18-2017 update. This will only last a few months though because further changes are coming to enhancement for lower level equipment. There are only three changes that have been made to enhancing:
1) For level 90 armor specifically, enhancing will provide the same amount of DEF as plate, regardless of armor type.
2) Enhanced armor now provides significantly more DEF when broken than before.
3) Armor will now provide HP starting at +6.

Everybody thank our silent saint Shippuu for collecting and providing me with this information through his posts. Please keep in mind that I am still working to confirm the numbers for +13-15 to make sure everything is correct or that Nexon didn't screw up. Thank you Shippuu!

In advance, if you plan on making a full +15 armor set, there is pretty much no point in choosing level 90 plate armor because you will retain 90% of the DEF at +15.

    If I understand what you just said about lvl 90 armor, the only difference between a +15 plate piece and a +15 light piece will be some odd 40 def total? Point of Plate and Heavy armor now?

    No, the only difference between a +15 plate and +15 light is that plate doesn't break as easily in combat. The only other point you might have for choosing plate armor is enchantments, but heavy armor can use any enchantment that plate can.

    If you look at the NEW descriptions for Plate and Cloth Armor in skills menu, it states they BOTH have 180% increase in strength at Rank5 (how easily they break). It also states that plate rank5 gives increase def 263 vs cloth increase def 184. What I was asking was this base 79 def of plate over cloth still apply, or is this also a typo and they are supposed to give the same amount of def boost? Also, the descprtions imply ease of breaking is the same for both types, unless there is some hidden base modifier...

    I believe the descriptions are slightly off; I am getting 136 DEF from cloth proficiency rank 5, and 194 DEF from plate proficiency rank 5. Regardless of actual numbers, you are correct that there will be a DEF difference if you are staring at clean level 90 plate versus cloth (up to 290 DEF assuming my numbers are correct).

    As for the chance of breaking, I am definitely no expert on combat durability, and I probably shouldn't have made my earlier point in order to avoid the spread of misinformation. However, based on experience, my plate armor has always been the last to break. As you said, X1Guts1X, there's probably a hidden base, but I certainly do not know it; my interpretation is that the 180% boost is to the hidden armor durability used during combat. Depending on this hidden durability difference between armor types, there could be a significant advantage to having plate armor combined with the campfire buff for armor regeneration.

    This leads me back to my earlier statement on if you plan on having a level 90 +15 armor set. You'll retain 90% of the DEF when your armor is broken, so even if plate armor gets more DEF and breaks less often, the difference in DEF will be so slim that you will hardly notice.

    I get your point, what I don't get is why would DevCat further Nerf Plate/Heavy. Light/Cloth is already best in slot for head and leg, even in hand and foot (or better if you want attack cause sil/dec tend to be cheaper than ren/echo) . Plate/Heavy was arguably better in chest, making weapon+chest+hand Or foot viable combo, but with these changes I'd probably rather go full cloth or light now.
    Hopefully we get some new heavy/plate specific scrolls that would account for these nerfs to Plate/Heavy.

    So in case anyone was wondering. I've learned that our in-game armor proficiency descriptions are indeed blundered. As many may know, there is an upcoming patch that will reduce the ranks of some skills so that there aren't any "dead" ranks like needing to advance two levels just to wear the next set of gear. We supposedly got the text update for it, but not the actual update. The numbers on the outdated wiki are still correct:

    Rank 5 armor proficiency
    Cloth +136 DEF
    Light +156 DEF
    Heavy +174 DEF
    Plate +194 DEF
