Does any one know of a quick way to level up proficiency and does anyone know if there are going to any events to help level it up.

You missed the double proficiency event, where that gave 2x the proficiency points earned per craft.

Recommend getting X gun kai for break off mats, and depending on your current level for crafting, a good mine bomb thrower.

Though, the MORE important question is if you are a tailor, weapon smith (all weapons except for bow, staff, and X gun), armor smith, or Gold smith.

Either way, the most common way to get common materials is from these following dungeons.

Iron ore (regular): Dethrone the white tyrant; drops 10-15 iron a run with copper or silver as a by product

    Gold ore: World of Pain.

Fine - exquisite iron ore = 80-90 TD area A, ship graveyard area

Fine metal solvent/tannin/sewing kit: Brakis or nel for 2500 gold per item.

Hilt: Krunk at 1500 gold per item (buy materials shop)

metal clamps: Kristie's store 200 gold per item (brakis and nel also sell this).

Crafting base accessories: Jarliath (buy materials shop) Ranges from 7-10,000 gold per item.

    Orb - TD area A 70-90

Copper ore: What the Dead Leave behind ore deposits.

Magic powder, fire, ice, and spirit remnants: Two moons.

Leather + Cloth (regular): Dead gnolls from perlious ruins.

    Leather + Cloth (fine/superior): Trolls.

Leather + Cloth (exquisite): Gatekeeper of catacombs

    Spider web: 5 spider brothers

A good tip is going for easy recipes that are 20 over your proficiency stat, but don't go 11 over as they will gray out and will not earn any more points.

Additionally, do not go for S2 recipes that take 35 power crystals per craft, as it's a giant waste of time to grind for 35 crystals at 2 core drops per boss.

if you run low on gold, you can check the market and make those materials to easily get the gold back, or go the gold generator's route and do Deep corruption battle and kick kill enemies (easily done with a bow kai), and kill the boss to earn 99,300 gold thanks to both bonus missions (kick kill 7 enemies + equip destroyed less than 5 times) completed. Repair fees depend on your current equipment.

really all I can post for now until I get more information.

There is a x2 Expertise event for week 2 and week 4 for Golden Time.
Week 2: Monday, December 26- Sunday, January 1
    Week 4: Monday, January 9 - Sunday, January 15

As Ikarsu said, it depends on what expertise you are pursuing, but it also depends on if the marketplace is helping you. Ikarsu pointed out that for the low level S2 recipes, you need a LOT of Crescent Moon Island Power Crystals or Ship Graveyard Power Crystals, but if the marketplace has 600+ Ship Graveyard Crystals then Weaponsmithing can craft Stoneshell items from 280 all the way to 340 without having to change materials.

That would take about an astounding minimal amount of 1,400 ship graveyard crystals at 20 crystals per craft while earning 1 point in expertise for stone shell weapons.

to make 70 stone shell weapons, you need the 1,400 crystals (14 slots) I mentioned, 210 large and small pincers from stone shell (6 slots), 140 stoneshell sharp carapace and eyes (4 slots), along with 350 exquisite iron ores (4 slots). Be sure to save up at least 28 slots of inventory to make room for these materials if you plan on making them all at once.

    280-310 Stone shell long sword

310-340 Stone shell hammer, twin sword, or twin spear.

Don't even bother with going the grinding route. The amount of crystals needed along with S2's RNG and limitations would take at least 3-6 months of grinding, if not more, and I AM NOT joking. It literally took me that long going the grinding route to craft that many weapons since RNG likes to troll by only giving 1 point per craft.

If you want to tackle it a bit at a time, say 3 at a time, then you would only need 60 power crystals (graveyard), 9 stone shell large and small pincers, 6 stone shell sharp carapace and red eyes, and 15 exquisite iron ore.

S2 would not be as bad if the junk was removed, get more cores drop per boss kill, and have more runs allowed per day for graveyard.

You only need to craft 60 weapons not 70, and this week's x2 Expertise experience will halve that amount. What would originally be 1200 crystals maximum at standard leveling, gets halved to 600 and you would only need to craft 30 times. Also, there's around a 20% chance to get a +2 skill up that gets doubled by the event, so you would actually increase by 4. If you get a +2 even just 3 times, you save on 120 additional Ship Graveyard Power Crystals.

120 Exquisite Iron Ores, 480 Ship Graveyard Crystals, and a stack of 4 other different Stoneshell parts for 60 skill levels is a lot better than wasting time to craft extra superior hilts, collecting 5-10 different materials going from level 280 to 300, and then another 5-10 materials from 300-330, and then another 5-10 materials going from 330-350.
