Add auto merge function when using shared storage

Identical items should be automatically merged together whether being moved in or out of the shared storage, otherwise we have to drag the items every single time and merge them manually, tedious, boring and stupid. It works in guild storage (not that well though, items must be on the current chest slot so it gets merged), why not in shared storage?
