Hammer vs Sword after rebalance patch?

I wanna start a fiona but I have no idea what weapon to invest in.

Will the rebalance patch ( where hammer gets new active and butterfly>stigma combo without slashing high ) shift the imbalance between sword and hammer in any way? Or sword remains absolute best even after that?

    I think you should play the weapon you like/enjoy the most :p

    The buffs hammer will get in a near future are definitely good ones, but sword will still remain "better" damage wise ( LS is getting buffed too )

    I main Hammer since years now and i'd just say to definitely follow what Leucosie wrote :

    Sword will ALWAYS be better (dmg wise);

    all buffs/balance prooved it but what matters here is what do you find fun more? Sword or Hammer. Stick to one of these 2.

    Agree with Phaliant, just keep in mind that hammer due to its slow attacks become more fun with higher attack speed. I played LS for long time and switched to Hammer, not because of the damage(which is lower), but cos I like the style and not the nonstop repeating Amaranth.
