Story Quest not working. Please help.

So I have been trying to complete the same story for the past 2 months The Final Test of a True Soldier. I have gotten the third letter right clicked it talked to Gwynn
and got the Renos ore from revived fear. But ever time i talk to the castle guard i get the same chitchat. It will not let me complete the story. I have looked online on how to complete the story but haha all the stuff i read of the story stats i should be able to complete it because i have done everything and i still have the ore no matter how many times i talk to him. So um does anyone know whats going on or how to help?
