For X gun, if you use six shot before the 7th bolt detonates the other 6, and then use quick draw to trigger enhanced bolt/bomb, you can still get the explosive damage buff from enhanced bolt/bomb when the 6 bolts detonate. Note that the 7th bolt will always track towards the center of the first 6 shots.
This can help out for maximizing DPS potential and making boss runs faster.
