What is the current damage calculation formula?
I just got a new weapon that adds 2k mattack (current is 9k), but removes 25 crit and 120 add damage, so it isn't apparent if it will be better or worse.

Excluding other factors, looking at just the balance:
So, with my old weapon I have
9000 matck
79 BAL
on average 89.5% damage = 8055 damage
With new weapon
11000 matck
54 BAL
on average 77% damage = 8470 damage
I barely get any increase, and since I also lose 120 add damage which I did not include here since no one could provide any formula, I will probably lose damage in the end, so can someone explain why is the new weapon would be better when it doesn't seem like it would be?

So additional damage is added on top of regular with 6.25 mult, both are affected by balance.
With that in mind:
Old weapon
9000 matck
750 add dmg
79 BAL, on average 89.5% damage
8055 damage
total average dmg = 0.895 * (9000 + 750*6.25) = 12250
With new weapon
11000 matck
630 add dmg
54 BAL, on average 77% damage
total average dmg = 0.77 * (11000 + 630*6.25) = 11501
So new weapon will actually significantly reduce the damage output despite having 2k more magic attack
