Gallagher's Subordinate Issue and continuing story

I have a level 28 Vella. Ever since the new update came out, I haven't been able to continue the normal story route. Instead the only available Main Story I am able to do is Gallaghers Subordinate. but I cannot complete it until I'm a level 59 and able to enhance items. Can there please be a fix for this. I don't want to make another Vella. And it's going to take days grinding lvl 20 dungeons to reach lvl 59 without Story exp.

    Gallagher's Subordinate is not necessary to advance the main story, so perhaps you marked the story as hidden. Did you check for hidden stories?
