Walking up to a transition "blue haze", as the screen fades to black hitting "ESC" at that exact moment will lock the camera looking in the room or transition, while on your map hitting "wasd" will move your character but not your camera... haven't really found things to test past that point.. but I'm sure that wasn't the desired idea.
