  • Are guild runs on Quick Battle inconsiderate?

    I think it's really annoying but I'm a nice guy so I just leave. I understand why they're doing it, that extra core, and I empathise, but it's still going to lead to me sitting through two loading screens for nothing, and that's not including the semi-rare occasion where the game crashes loading back into town forcing me to go through all the log in loading screens again.

    It'd be nice if they gave you an extra core for having a full group on boat launch or something. That way they could get an extra core and not trouble the rest of use using the quick battle board.

    I have one or two of these unopened still sitting in my inventory so whoopie. "We can only advise you to be careful" well that is rich.

    A long time ago I bought an extraction rune from the nx store. At this time they were limited time items, and they cost 25 dollars. I had planned to use the thing to transfer my lvl 90 weapons enchants to my lvl 95 weapon. At this time Righteous and Judgment cost like 80-125 million gold so it seemed worth it. A month later they put out a notice that I have 30 days to use the rune they had just sold me because they were phasing it out for the new (current) stone and the old stones would either be deleted or no longer work, I forget which. I asked for a refund, and they wouldn't do it. I asked if I could just have one of the new stones, and they wouldn't do it. They could have arranged some way for all the owners of old stones to get new stones but apparently it was a lot less trouble to screw me over. 25 dollars. It's not the most money in the world but it's not nothing, I considered it a lot for an item like that and I still do. (I guess Nexon eventually did too because they aren't 25 dollars anymore.) I could buy a decent game for that, or pay some low cost bill like water or gas, I could go get a nice meal or buy the whole family take out, heck if I wanted to spend it in game I could even have spent it on an outfitter or something instead and actually have had something to show for it.

    But nope. It was just gone. Poof. And the thing that made me the maddest was the lack of consideration. It's not like they couldn't do anything for me, they chose not to. And it's not like these things don't come out in Korea first. At the point that they sold me that stone, they had to have known that I wouldn't be able to keep it and they said nothing about that to me. This was the response that I got:
    Players are held responsible for using items to their effects before changes are made.

    I understand a lot will be changed in the new update, but we cannot make exceptions for any players as all will have to abide by the new changes. If you have any new issues, please add this in a new ticket and we'll gladly assist you.

    This made me so angry that I quit the game for a year and a half. And I love this stupid game. Even now that I have come back to the game I still can't forget it. It creeps up on me from time to time and it leaves me with ugly feelings. I am happy when customer service does help me with a problem but this event keeps me from ever truly being happy with the company and it keeps me from being able to recommend nexon games to people as well as keeping me from trying other nexon games I've been interested in like hyper universe. I wonder how many people have been screwed like this in some fashion and never come back? So I understand how you feel, believe me.

    Now if Nexon could hear me I would say this: This sort of thing is just bad for business Nexon, and I seem to want you to succeed more than you seem to want to succeed because I want you to improve and grow and reach a broader audience with your games but you just keep making the same mistakes. You should not be so cavalier about throwing away the good will of people who were previously happy to support you.

    Nexon, is in general, a pretty miserly company. Case in point, I bought the old 25 dollar extraction rune from them. It's just sitting in my inventory waiting for the lvl 95 weapons. A month later, they go and tell me I have to use up my rune in 30 days because they have a new version of the rune coming, and my old rune will just be deleted. Now, any other company might refund me the NX I spent with them, after all that money still stays bound to the company store. Nexon flatly refused. I asked if I could just get one of the new runes instead because I planned to use that rune on lvl 95 weapons when I bought it. That was also refused. Here's the thing. They put that rune on sale two months before they were replacing it. They had to have KNOWN at that point that the new rune was coming. Why in the hell would they sell me something I couldn't keep, for that much, and not warn me. I could have bought a premium outfitter for that price. Why not just update all the old runes to the new runes? Because screw me, it's easier just to burn me than to code that in.

    My brother had been saving up event items to buy some stuff from the event shop. He logs in at 11 PM only to find that earlier that day, nexon screwed up daylight savings time on their server. "No problem" he says, "I'll just tell them what happened" They could have said "okay sure, we'll do this exchange for you, after all these items cost us nothing, we were giving them away as it was, and we understand that our mistake has inconvenienced you." But nope. they just refused to help him and he felt burned by all the time he'd wasted.

    It's like this company goes out of their way to generate ill will wherever possible. There is sound, marketable value in good will and if it costs you nothing, why not just take the net gain of customer satisfaction? The only reason I can come up with is spite. Whenever Vindictus closes it's doors the odds are very low I'll ever touch anything with the Nexon name on it again (I'm not certain, looking at how Nexon America events tend to be more tight fisted than they are in other regions if this is a reflection on our branch or the whole company, but the difference is academic as long as this is the branch that I have to deal with). It's the entire reason I haven't even tried Hyper Universe and I think the hero designs in that look awesome.

  • Premium Videk's Safeguard Rune.

    So I noticed in the return shop there's an item called Premium Videk's safeguard rune. At 50 tickets you might assume it's gotta be something pretty good. I mean why else would they only let you buy one of them?!? It says it let's you pick between stats so you might be thinking: "Man all I need is this one stone and I can cut through the crap, some screen will pop up and let me pick crit or bal or whatever I need." I know that's what I thought. However, it doesn't work that way. In fact I used one and absolutely nothing happened. No stat selection screen came up, I just got plus 3 willpower like I hadn't used any stone at all. My assumption now is that if you had an effect on the item you could pick between the old and new effect, but that's garbage. Bottom line, it's a piece of junk and a huge waste of tickets. Stay away from it. I would post some screen shots I took earlier but I am just too damned tired at this point. Just posting this as a PSA so that you guys avoid this thing, I could not find any info on it online so I thought I'd do the trailblazing, but sometimes when you explore uncharted territory things go horribly, horribly wrong. Tell my tickets I loved them. Blurgh. *dies*

    Thing's worthless. Even trying to infuse again will clear negative effects, no rune required. And if you had say balance on your rings and you were hoping for crit, the odds of getting that choice are like 200 to one. Spend your tickets on something else guys.
