    You mean like this?
    Don't just post a link like "http://imgur.com/a/2l7ov.";
    Right click the picture and select open image in new tab. Copy that link and you get "http://i.imgur.com/zALRePC.jpg."; See how it ends in a picture format like .jpg? Then, type "img" in brackets and paste the link right after it.

    To do a picture it should look like this when you type it: (img)http://i.imgur.com/zALRePC.jpg
    Except you should swap the ()'s for brackets []

    What Cloakshire said applies to all sort of formatting here on the forums. First you need the brackets, then enter the kind of formatting you want. It's good to have an understanding of how it works so that you can even use ones that aren't apparent.

    [ img ] [ /img ] image
    [ quote="person's name" ] [ /quote ] quote
    [ u ] [ /u ] underline
    [ b ] [ /b ] bold
    [ i ] [ /i ] italics
    [ s ] [ /s ] strikethrough
    [ center ] [ /center ] center alignment
    [ url="http:// some super long URL "] link using your own text [ /url ] link using your own text

    and so forth
